Why University Ministry?
Universities are a key pillar of the nation.
Students from there often add great value to the community, nation and the world.
But you and I know that not everything that goes on at the university is noble and praiseworthy – especially due to the extreme freedom that is typical of campus life.
Since YWAM Campus Ministry Tanzania (YWAM – CMTZ) started in 2003, our goal is to go into Tanzania’s universities, encounter students, and use biblical truth to re-shape their world view and turn their lives around for the Kingdom of God!
In the middle of all the youthful chaos of campus life, there are Christian students who are looking for warm, nurturing fellowship environments in which their faith can thrive.
We want to reach you!
Other students haven’t yet heard the gospel, while some have heard but have not yet come to saving faith in it.

We want to see university students engaged in missions and evangelism, rather than moral decay like alcoholism, drug abuse and prostitution!
We are not trying to make everyone a pastor, but we are passionate about using biblical truth to help each student know God and His character, love Him, demonstrate His Kingdom in their university, love God’s people, love other people, and discover God’s purpose for life.

A Brief History of YWAM-CMTZ
Take this short discovery journey and learn more about how YWAM Campus Ministry Tanzania began.
Operating as a ministry within YWAM Mwandege Base, Mkuranga, Campus Ministry Tanzania was founded by Sihwan In and Myounghwa Park.
We started ministry at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). We lived in a rented house in Dar es Salaam.
Within this time-frame (2006-2007), our present location at Makongo Juu, Dar es Salaam was constructed.
It was in this monumental year (2009) that we run our first, official, University Discipleship Training School (UDTS).
We followed the registration procedures and finally successfully registered our UDTS with YWAM’s University of the Nations, in 2018, as YWAM Dar es Salaam.

Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups and Christian traditions, dedicated to serve Jesus throughout the world.
Founded in 1960, we are united in a common purpose to “Know God and make Him known”.
